Rip and Hopper's Redfish Roadie

16 Days – 5 States – 2600 Miles – Florida & Louisiana

This is the Fly Fishing Roadtrip of the year!

Our GOAL is simple. We want to meet you as we fish our way through the saltwater seeking Redfish on the Rip and Hopper’s Adventure REDFISH ROADIE 2019!

Our plan is to meet up with as many anglers as possible, fish new water, and prove that it doesn’t take a fortune to get out and catch fish while making new fishy friends! We believe that fly fishing is inclusive and welcoming. We also believe in shopping small and introducing new people to the sport we love!

Join us for one of our co-ed community events and test for the FFI Bronze Casting Challenge!

/

The trip consists of both fishing days and co-ed community events.

ALL COMMUNITY EVENTS ARE SPONSORED BY FLY FISHERS INTERNATIONAL – OPEN TO ALL – AND COMPLETELY FREE!

We will be happily showing off the fun FFI Bronze Casting Challenge at these events.  For those interested, we will run through and practice the different skills needed to pass this challenge. If you’re interested in testing for the Bronze challenge, we are qualified to judge you for the completion of this challenge!

The challenge and skills can be found here: FFI Bronze Casting Challenge

COMMUNITY EVENT SCHEDULE:

We have four Co-Ed Community Nights, three in Florida and the fourth in New Orleans! That’s right, we will be celebrating Halloween in New Orleans! If you live anywhere near where we will be, we want to meet you! We would like to keep these events as plastic-free as possible, so please bring a reusable water bottle and we will provide you with refreshments kept cold by YETI. Sweetwater Brewing has sponsored adult beverages for our events, and in places designated OK for adult beverages, we will have these available on behalf of Sweetwater.

The Simms Guide Classic Wader and Jacket

The Simms Guide Classic Wader and Jacket

I’m a bit of a gear junkie. I love good gear and I love good technology. I can also tend to be a brand snob. When I got into fly fishing back in the day, I wore Simms boy’s waders, casted a Sage 9’ 5-wt Light Line and

Survival of the Fittest - Or Most Prepared

This is the current view from my office window…in Tennessee.  I moved here from Chicago four years ago because I wanted to be somewhere warm, without that white stuff, and without the single-digit temperatures. To say I feel like I was sold a bill of goods this morning when
