Why it's Worth It - Cheeca Lodge and Spa

Cheeca Lodge & Spa has been a pillar in the upper Keys since 1946. Today, it continues to set the standard in luxurious accommodations for anglers traveling to fish the world-famous turquoise blue waters surrounding the area.

Explore the 1,100-foot private beach studded with palm trees, fish off the 525-foot wooden pier, enjoy a dip in one of the heated swimming pools, and relax after a day of fishing with the perfect spa package. For the nonanglers in the family, there are shaded cabanas on the beach, a Caribbean tiki bar, eco-tours, paddleboards, and pickleball.

The lodge offers fishing experiences for all skill level anglers. You can battle the silver king, try to keep up with bonefish on the flats, search out a picky permit, or probe the mangroves for snook. When your fishing day has ended, enjoy an unforgettable meal at one of the four restaurants on the lodge property.

Water view rooms starting at $219/night

Survival of the Fittest - Or Most Prepared

Survival of the Fittest - Or Most Prepared

This is the current view from my office window…in Tennessee.  I moved here from Chicago four years ago because I wanted to be somewhere warm, without that white stuff, and without the single-digit temperatures. To say I feel like I was sold a bill of goods this morning when
